Applied Underwriters Garners Top Awards Among Workers’ Compensation Carriers in All Applicable Categories

Applied consistently earns notable accords for claims excellence, client care and high service standards

Omaha, Nebraska -- March 8, 2021 -- Applied Underwriters again garnered top honors as a comparison of the top 25 workers’ compensation carriers in the US was issued by Insurance Business America Magazine (IBA). The accord follows the recent recognition of Applied as the top performer by the State of California’s PAR Audit. These latest honors come after the publication conducted extensive research among independent agents and brokers to identify carriers offering the best in product offerings, agent and broker support and industry knowledge.

According to the publication, their 15-week research process included one-on-one interviews with specialist agents and brokers, as well as surveys with thousands more to gain an understanding of what insurance professionals think of current market offerings in the workers’ compensation insurance industry. Carriers were measured on the strength of their relationships with brokers, ability to handle claims, underwriting expertise and their product and service offerings.

Applied Underwriters was recognized by IBA as the leader in all nine of the categories applicable to the business it underwrites, including: best standard coverage, best loss control services, best claims processing, best customer service, most competitive premiums, and most flexible, which was awarded to carriers most willing to find solutions to best meet their clients’ unique needs.

Brokers told IBA that “carriers’ claims handling abilities were the most important factor when selecting a workers’ compensation insurer.” IBA also noted that “receiving top-notch customer service from carriers is also extremely important to brokers, but only nine carriers were singled out as 5-star winners in this category.” Applied Underwriters ranked among the nine.

Applied was also recognized as one of the carriers offering the best workers’ compensation coverage within the construction, hospitality and manufacturing markets.
